Everton now join the race to sign Arsenal star

Theo Walcott

Everton have reportedly joined West Ham and Southampton in the race to sign Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at the Gunners this season and Arsene Wenger’s team are reportedly willing to let go off him in January if they receive a good offer.

Everton have struggled this season partly because they failed to find a quality replacement for Romelu Lukaku who left the club to join Manchester United during the summer.

New boss Sam Allardyce could look to strengthen his attack in January and the pace of Walcott could be a valuable addition.

Walcott joined the Gunners in January 2006 from Southampton for a fee of £12 million as one of England’s most highly rated young talents.

He has however been unable to live up to expectations due to a series of injuries. Should Walcott still have hopes of making the England squad for next summer’s World Cup, then a fresh challenge is necessary.
