Cedric Bakambu named LaLiga Player of the Month for October 2017

Villarreal CF striker Cedric Bakambu has been named the LaLiga Santander Player of the Month for October. His goalscoring exploits last month helped Villarreal soar up the table into the Europa League qualification spots.

The France-born Congolese star'ssix strikesin October have seen him receive the award for the first time in his career. The 26-year-old scored a hat-trick against SD Eibar in a 3-0 victory, struck twice in a 2-1 away win at Girona FC and once in Villarreal's 4-0 thrashing of UD Las Palmas.

This season, LaLiga has added a new dimension to the awarding of the Player of the Month accolade, bringing fans closer to the action of the best league in the world. This will see Bakambu collect the award in front of the Estadio de la Ceramica crowd, before Villarreal's match against Sevilla FC.
